This is the beginning of my sketch for Derby City Comic convention coming up here in Louisville. I asked to do some artwork and they are having me do the booklet covers for the programs.
I was asked to do a Derby Girl, the hat and everything. Oddly enough they were thinking of a jockey woman. I thought of that at first but went a different route and decided to pull from my own experience of the Kentucky Derby which was the horse races, hats and being dolled up. So far they love the idea. YAY!

Logo Designs
Logo designs I made for a company called concept garden. Doubt they will be used as this was entered onto a competitive site and the company admired a different look.
BUT I'm happy with these mock-ups. I think they are strong for a first concept and could only go up if I sat down and tweaked them with guidance from the company.

Weekly sketches
I have a group of friends on FB that do weekly drawing jams and sketches. Each week we post a topic and ask our friends to pick out something for us to draw, this keeps us in practice and such.
The small sketch on top was last week's Fav 80's show and Small Wonder was picked. Since I wasn't feeling all too well I spent all of 10 minutes on the sketch.
The bottom sketch is Fav Movie Monster and Toxic Avenger was chosen. I spent much more time on him because he's such an odd but fun character.
This week's topic is Fav Alice in Wonderland Character. Sure to get some interesting pics from this topic.

Sketch progress I'm making as a practice. I'm also doing a small tutorial on my deviant art page for those who asked how I draw women. I've been trying to work up my hand again. I've been doing SO much design my sketching has been neglected and needs some TLC.
So I took up drawing a doodle of Jem, a nice 80's fabulous character with HUGE hair. This image will be fully sketched then uploaded onto my computer and digitally colored.

Think Pink!
BBS has changed the Blog layout to PINK for Breast Cancer Awareness. I'll be sketching up something and also going on several walks to help contribute to breast cancer awareness.
Currently I know a woman who is going through this and I have to admit she is a BRAVE woman. She has motivated me to be more proactive with this cause and not take our health for granted.
To any touched by this, my heart and admiration for your strength goes to you. You have my respect, always.
Pinky and The Brain. Naturally dressed in Star Trek gear. Brain would definitely be Spock and since Pinky doesn't know the show he's dressed as the soon-to-die red shirt. Something interesting is making a 3 fingered character do the live long and prosper hand gesture.
Took a photo of this craziness I drew last night and colored with Copic Markers. Had to doodle something for myself.

Toddlers and Tantrums Branding
It's been agreed upon! Shauna, owner of Toddlers and Tantrums, wants to use my logo and marketing campaign to help launch her baby couture designs!
Shauna asked me to create something fun, funky and overly cute because she designs tutus and baby clothes for girls. She wanted something different because her work is incredibly unique and I was inspired by her designs.
I love it when an owner lets me really dig in creatively and try new things. I made 2 mock up logos but I wasn't satisfied and so I created this and we both love it.
She gets her logos today.
